Exceptionally impressive and presentable, unusual mantel clock, made completely from wood (rare for mantel clocks). Created probably in the second half of the last century, perhaps as a masterpiece, is a true phenomenon seamlessly combining elements of styles characteristic for both eras – Baroque and Rococo. One might say, it is a type of “artistic twist”, constituting a creative and well done attempt of combining these two styles. Despite the significant height of the mantel clock (0,7m), it makes the impression of lightness, what is undoubtedly due to the perfect proportions. The clock is decorated with a masterful woodcarvings in solid wood – two key motives are a meticulously draped “textile” and ubiquitous garlands of flowers, flowing glamorously down the vase, crowning the whole. Centrally below the clock face rests a laurel wreath. The wood is completely gilded, amongst others with golf leaf. This unique clock, presents itself best in a cabinet, salon, library or dining room. Makes a great addition to original, well-arranged stylish interiors. The piece has undergone professional maintenace and clockmaker inspection. Fully functional.
